Our most beloved are often the most troublesome to tuck away. From oversized rolling pins that don’t quite fit in drawers to that pile of pans that plunges from the cabinet nearly every day, disorderly kitchen tools can be enough to drive a home cook nuts. Not sure how to store your kitchen utensils? All that Southern kitchen needs is a little planning and plenty of ideas for making cabinets, countertops, and drawers work a little harder.
This DIY custom kitchen drawer organizer was so easy to make and cost less than $10 for the entire project. I am SO THRILLED with how much better my kitchen drawers look!! They drove me crazy when they were a jumbled mess! I was constantly digging through junk and could never find what I was looking for in the tangle of whisks and tongs and spatulas.
This DIY storage trick makes smart use of an usual source: plumbing supplies. Medina at Grillo Designs mounted plumbing pipe clips on a piece of wood, which she then hung on her wall to create a rustic and handy utensil hanging rack.
If you prefer a more minimalist look and want to keep your utensils out of sight, make your cupboards work double time. Adding a strip of wood and hooks to the back of the cupboard door is a perfect spot to hang smaller utensils, while under-the-counter shelving can easily double your total storage area. For storing plates or pots and pans lids, try a rack on the side of your cupboard wall.
If you‘ve struggled to keep your kitchen organized, you‘re not alone. The struggle is all too real, but there‘s hope for your biggest (and smallest) problem spots. These practical ideas really work, so you won‘t be overwhelmed by clutter — or veer into organization overload, where you have a box for each individual item you own. And, if you need more inspo, check out our best cabinet and pantry organization ideas. Who has the most organized kitchen on the block? Oh, that‘d be you.
